Red7 April 07 Update. Here is some news on the performances of our skis in South Africa.

New red7 comp ski (single adjustable foot well and one piece moulded): Richard von Wilderman won the SA Surf Ski title paddling our ski. He commented that the rigidity of the ski is awesome (like paddling a carbon craft). The drainage is excellent and it is easy to jump start as a result of the single foot well. He has also used the ski in some hairy down winds and loves it to bits! Natalie Verkranges also paddled the new ski and podiumed in the ladies Surf Ski champs.

The Pro 70 is creating a storm – in Durban a paddler Andre Pohl has moved up from 8/9th to finishing in the top three in the ski series races(10km) there – beating the likes of Barry Lewin, the Barthos – only coming behind the likes of Hank McGregor and Herman Chalupski!

In a recent race in Plett (20km) Richard Von Wilderman raced the pro 70 (his first race on it ) to a close 4th just been beaten by Barry Lewin – the event was a world series race won by Hank and second was Dawid Mocke. The Pro 70 was a standard 16kg boat whilst all the other craft in the top 10 where light weight epics and fenns – thus making this performance even more spectacular! (He beat paddlers like Peter Cole, Steve Woods, Jasper Mocke etc)

Dale Lipstreu in Cape Town (who used to paddle an Epic elite) did his best  10 km time trial ever in the standard pro  averaging well over 12 km per hour where in the past he has not gone faster than 11kph. He is amazed at the stability, speed and rigidity of the Pro – and that is comparing it to his Epic elite which costs three times the price!

A former Italian Olympic sprinter paddled the Pro and did comparisons to the Fenns and Epics and found the ski to be 10 sec faster over 500m! Also it was by far the most comfortable to paddle – the ergonomics were the best.

We have massive demand for both of these skis (and for the Multi) with containers of skis going to France, Italy, Dubai, Australia, New Zealand – and with local demand way outstripping production capacity

I will keep you posted on the performances of the red7 Craft

Cheers

Anton (Red7)
